A small, summer camp rooted in the hills of the Rondout. Kids ages 4–12 spend their days making art, playing games, exploring Cornell Park, walking to the Rondout Creek, and discovering their own neighborhood in a whole new way.
Home base is a welcoming family home on West Chestnut Street — a real neighborhood anchor of a participating family. On rainy days, we can stay inside and make art or dance in the rain… it’s all up to us! With a max of 10 campers, and a 3:1 child-to-teacher ratio, this is the opposite of a big summer program. We’ll start as neighbors and become friends going on adventures together everyday.
What kids do: Eco art projects using natural and upcycled materials, free play, and nature games at Cornell Park, guided walks and lunch along the Rondout Creek, and plenty of the kind of unstructured time that summer is actually for.
Session 1: June 15–19 Monday–Friday 9am–3pm · Ages 4–12 · Max 10 campers
Session 2: June 22–26 Monday–Friday 9am–3pm · Ages 4–12 · Max 10 campers
$200 per child per week plus $25 off for every additional child
At Eco Art, we try to keep things simple and flexible for families, with no deposits and no long-term commitments. However, in order to maintain our 3 to 1 child-to-teacher ratio and plan staffing accordingly, we ask for at least 24 hours notice for any cancellations.
